Buenos Aires and beyond

After repacking for the trip to the Falls which meant trying to figure out what to wear and deciding less was better (a mistake, Dan had more clothes than I)   We were off.   There are 14 in out group from the ship (6 of them traveling together).   First stop Buenos Aires airport which is amazingly near to town and built on reclaimed land from the Plata River   It is an amazingly small airport for a capital city.   But we won’t see the international side until several days from now.  

Arrival in Iguazu and we must drive to the park.  Lunch at the park dining room and the off to the trails.  The Argentinean side has 80% of the falls that are viewable. There are 2 trails and upper trail and a lower trail that has steps and is considered harder. The hardest point was on the way from the trail was a long grade uphill.  The grade went forever or seemingly.  It was a little worse or so it seemed because the temperature was in the mid 80’s with lots of humidity. 

After the hikes and all the photos we could take we will travel out of the park head further north to Brazil. We will be staying 2 nights in Brazil and then head back to Argentina. 

Our hotel is on the Brazil side in the park. It is a Bel Monde hotel and even though it was built in 1953 it was was meticulously kept with great service and beautiful grounds.  The only complaint was to eat outside you had to fight with the flies.
